Ramos Pinto Duas Quintas Tinto Wine

Duas Quintas Red is a wine from the region of Douro Superior, more specifically from Quinta de Ervamoira (150 metres altitude) and Quinta dos Bons Ares (600 metres altitude).
Joe Fattorini's Tasting Note: "Pronounced ‘Ramoosh Tint' with just a hinted aspiration at the end, here another great Port house makes a glorious dry, unfortified red. This has the herbal quality to the dark cherry and damson fruit that evokes memories of the brush covered hill sides in the beautiful Douro Valley. Have this with grilled vegetables and cheese (like Halloumi) for a great night in."
These are followed by floral and spicy notes, with a long and strong finish.
Its presence is felt in the mouth, with fine tannins and body.
It has an expressive, vinous aroma, pronounced with spices and tobacco leaf, sweet peach and orange blossom notes.
Food pairing Suggestions: An excellent aperitif. Pair with dishes such as stews, cheese raclette, chicken muamba (chicken curry) to which is will provide freshness. Ideal as well with roast chicken and vegetarian lasagna. As a dessert, pair with semi-cured sheep cheese and cured goat cheese. Serve at 16-18 °C.
Dense, dark red colour with ruby reflections, clean and bright.
Awards: Wine Enthusiast - 89/100, Wine Spectator - 87/100.
A blend of traditional grape varieties that expresses the potential of this most extreme region.
