Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Is squid a good bait for freshwater fishing?

Squid will essentially be viewed as cut bait in freshwater most of the time. Yes, you can troll whole squid for salmon and striped bass, but cut bait will work best for almost every predatory freshwater fish.

2. Is squid good bait for fishing?

Squid are one of the most important food sources for saltwater fish worldwide, so they're an important bait. Sometimes you'll find whole small squids; other times, large or small pieces of “wing” from larger squid.

3. What is the best Colour squid jig to use?

Orange is best when the water clarity is down. Pink squid jigs are probably the most used by squid fishers and as such catch a lot of squid. Pink is considered by many to be the preferred fall back colour when others are not working.
