1. Are integrated washing machines a standard size?

Are Integrated Washing Machines A Standard Size? Pretty much. They are all designed to fit in a standard 600mm wide space and have a 600mm wide cabinet door attached to them, with a kitchen worktop above. However, where they can differ a little (usually due to drum size) is how deep the appliance is.

2. Why is an integrated washing machine more expensive?

Due to the manufacturing costs of integrated washing machines and cabinets, they are significantly more expensive than freestanding washing machines with similar functions and specifications. Installation costs are also greater on integrated machines as they are more complicated to install.

3. Can a normal washing machine be integrated?

It is always possible and does work. You should not attempt placing your current washer into any purpose built kitchen cabinet, because it will not fit. You require a "stow away unit" I usually make them from plinth boards.

4. Is it easy to replace an integrated washing machine?

Unfortunately, installing an integrated washing machine is harder than installing a freestanding model – mostly because you have to attach the surrounding cupboards, and remove and replace the kitchen unit plinth.
