Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Is acrylic good for bathtub?

Acrylic is a popular choice for bathtub material because it's low-maintenance, lightweight, affordable and available in a wide variety of colors, shapes and designs to suit a vast array of needs.

2. What type of soaking tub is best?

Porcelain-Enameled Cast Iron Tubs This is because enameled cast iron tubs have a thicker enamel and the cast iron is more resistant to impact. Cast iron also has fantastic heat retention, so you will be able to enjoy warm water in your bath for a long time, making it a great soaking tub.

3. Are acrylic bathtubs better than fiberglass?

Bottom line is that acrylic is a stronger material than fiberglass. Acrylic tubs effectively resist wear and tear for years on end, while fiberglass is prone to scratching and cracking. Fiberglass also fades more quickly, especially if exposed to sunlight coming in through a window.

4. Which is better acrylic or ceramic bathtub?

Acrylic is generally a much more durable material when compared to porcelain. Although porcelain tubs have a much harder surface and are more resistant to scratches when compared to acrylic, the harder surface is much more susceptible to cracks and chipping from heavy impacts.
