Best Undersize Golf Club Grips of 2026

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Should I use an undersize golf grip?

A men's large (L) or medium (M) glove size or a women's large (L) glove size usually requires a standard size grip. A men's small (S) glove size, or a women's medium (M) or small (S) glove size should consider using undersized grips. Youth players also should consider undersized grips.

2. What happens if golf grips are too small?

If you're playing with grips that are too small for your hands (regardless of your golf glove size), the smaller muscles of the hand and fingers have to work harder, often causing an overactive motion through the ball. In other words, smaller grips can make you handsy and cause you to release the clubhead too quickly.

3. What is an undersize golf grip?

Golf grip sizes are relatively simple, they come in Junior/Undersized, Standard, Midsize, and Jumbo/Oversize. All of the grip sizes are based off the standard grip. The undersize or junior grips are 1/64-inch smaller than standard grips. Midsize grips are 1/16-inch larger than standard.

4. Do I need undersized grips?

If your hand is less than seven inches in length, you will need junior grips or undersize grip. The Undersized grip is typically seen in clubs for children and for women.
