Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Are outside kennels good for dogs?

Outdoor Kennels Are Often a Better Option than Crates Dog crates are invaluable tools, and most owners should have one on hand for their pup. They're not only helpful for house training dogs, they're also great for keeping your dog safe when you can't directly supervise him.

2. How big should an outdoor kennel be for a dog?

An outdoor kennel, which can be used for breeding or boarding, needs to be larger than indoor kennels, as dogs are often left for longer periods. In these instances, the kennel should be long and narrow. The ideal size for larger breeds is 5 feet by 15 feet.

3. Is it cruel to keep a dog outside?

While it's not cruel to keep a pet outdoors in mild weather, dogs are pack animals who thrive with companionship and being close to their owners. So it's only natural that they will be happiest spending time with the family. A dog kept solely outside experiences social isolation and may bark or howl out of loneliness.

4. What is the best material for outdoor dog house?

Concrete. If you want to build a sturdy and permanent doghouse, concrete is a great option. It is a highly versatile and strong building material and will outlast most other materials.
