Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Do Himalayan lamps really work?

The bottom line. There is no evidence that Himalayan salt lamps release negative ions or clean the air. The best way to add negative ions to your home is with a commercial ionization machine that can produce high-density ionization.

2. Do Himalayan rock salt lamps work?

“There's not a lot of evidence to support the idea that Himalayan salt lamps provide some – if any – of the supposed health benefits,” says Dr. Vyas. One study did suggest that negative ions might decrease depression in some people. However, these lamps don't produce enough negative ions to make a difference.

3. Is the Tula Himalayan salt lamp real?

Be sure the lamp is from Pakistan. Himalayan salt is mined from the Khewra Salt Mines in the Punjab Region of Pakistan. If you don't see any mention of the mine or the region in the description of the lamp, it's most definitely a fake.

4. Do Himalayan lamps cry?

If you have recently purchased a beautiful salt crystal lamp, you might be surprised to find that your salt lamp cries or leaks. Himalayan salt is hygroscopic in nature which means it attracts moisture from the environment. Along with the moisture, all the impurities also get trapped inside the lamp.
