Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How does an automatic oiler work on a chainsaw?

Specially engineered chainsaw bar oil goes into the oil reservoir. ... As you throttle up, a worm drive engages the pump to send oil through a port that releases onto the bar. As the chain moves across the bar, it distributes the oil across the surface, reducing the friction and the heat that occurs when cutting.

2. Do all chainsaws have automatic Oilers?

All chainsaws have either manual or automatic pumps that dispense oil evenly on the saw chain. The oil removes friction and help the chain slide easily around the bar. A well lubricated saw chain should be able to cut well with no problems at all.

3. How does a Husqvarna chainsaw Oiler work?

Husqvarna chain saws possess an automatic oiler that continuously pumps small amounts of oil from the reservoir through the attached oil line, and onto the saw's guide bar and chain. When the line is clogged, however, the oil can't reach the chain, putting you and your equipment at risk.
