Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What is a pasta measure?

According to the USDA, the proper pasta portion is 2 ounces. If you're making longer noodles (think spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine), you can measure the right amount by holding the pasta up to a quarter. Once a bunch of noodles equals the diameter of the coin, you have the recommended 2 ounces. Put it in your palm.

2. How do you use a pasta measuring tool?

To use it, you just take a handful of your chosen spaghetti noodles and fit them through whichever hole corresponds to the number of people you are feeding. From smallest to largest, the tool shows the portions sizes of one, two, three, and four.

3. How do you measure spaghetti?

Here's how to do it: Take your pointer finger and thumb and make a circle, then shrink it small enough that it's roughly the size of a quarter. Then push the pasta in between your fingers, and whatever fits is a single serving. Now you can easily measure out pasta for one, two, or a whole crowd.

4. How do you measure spaghetti with a spoon?

The easiest way to measure out a perfect single serving of spaghetti is to use the hole in the center of your spaghetti spoon. Just take a handful of spaghetti and see if it fits, filling in the extra space as needed, until the bundle fits tightly in the space. And voilà, you've got a perfect amount just for you.
