Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Do I need a cat food mat?

The main purpose of a feeding mat is to prevent food and water from being spilled onto the floor, so it needs to have a non-slip bottom to stop it from sliding. The top needs to be non-slip too, though, as your cat's food bowls also need to stay put.

2. Do cats like lick mats?

Your cat will prefer the rewarding and soothing experience of licking the food and scraping its tongue on the specially designed LickiMat rubber tips and surfaces, instead of gulping the food. Different patterns on different models of LickiMat suit different treats and foods of differing consistency and structure.

3. How do you clean cat food mats?

For disinfecting, you can typically use a vinegar and water solution. This is a natural and non-toxic option for killing germs on pet place mats. You can use a one to one vinegar and water solution to clean most plastic pet mats. Once again, we recommend washing and drying the mat afterwards before using it again.
