Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Does external sound card improve sound quality?

Sound cards will improve the sound quality of your system, but if you don't have the appropriate speakers or headset, you will never notice the difference.

2. Do external sound cards work?

These USB sound cards are excellent choices for video editors and music producers, as they can offer audiophile levels of sound for your device. Even if you don't work in audio, but like to listen to music while you get creative, then the best USB sound cards can make a big difference.

3. Is Optical better than USB for sound?

Both will work fine, but optical has some major benefits over USB that just pushes it into first place. Not being affected by electrical and radio interference is a major advantage to me in the audio world. Personally I always use optical audio when possible.

4. Are internal or external sound cards better?

Noise floor. Internal sound cards, in general, have a higher noise floor compared to their external counterparts. The fact of the matter is, electrical devices are subject to interference, and depending on how you're planning to use the sound card, it may be a problem or you may not even notice it.
