Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What is a directors chair called?

A director's chair is a lightweight chair that folds side-to-side with a scissors action. The seat and back are made of canvas or a similar strong fabric which bears the user's full weight and can be folded; the frame is made of wood, or sometimes metal or plastic.

2. How are directors chairs measured?

If you don't have the fabric, then it will take two people to do the measurement. Open the chair frame and lock the brace on the legs. Then measure to the outside of the slots. For round stick canvas, you will add an inch to account for the two stick loops.

3. How tall is a directors chair?

Comparable to a standard dining chair, standard height directors chairs typically measure 17 to 18 inches in height.
