Bed skirts and valances are essential accessories for any bedroom. They not only enhance the overall look of the bed, but also help to hide any unsightly under-bed storage or dustbins. Bed skirts come in a variety of styles, including pleated, ruffled, and tailored, and can be made from a range of fabrics to match any bedding set. Valances, on the other hand, are decorative pieces of fabric that hang from the edge of the bed and can add a pop of colour or pattern to the room. Both bed skirts and valances are easy to install and can instantly transform the look of your bedroom.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What are bed valances?

Providing both style and functionality to a bed, a valance is a decorative skirt that fits onto the box spring or mattress of a bed to give the bed a polished and refined look.

2. Can you put a valance on a bed frame?

Place a valance over or around the bed frame to hide the frame. The bed skirt ( Valance) should be long enough to just lightly touch the floor. A bed wrap will only cover the bed frame, and usually has encased elastic around the top and bottom edge to keep it in place.

3. Can you put a bed skirt on any bed?

Wondering how to use a bed skirt or if a bed skirt is right for your bed? The answer is simple: If you have a traditional mattress and box spring set – you are all set. The bed skirt is easily placed between your mattress and box spring and can be adjusted to the height of your bed.

4. Where does a valance go on a bed?

A Base Valance covers the bottom of a divan bed and is fitted under the mattress. A Sheet Valance covers the mattress and the bottom of the bed and is fitted over the mattress, acting as the fitted sheet as well as the Valance.
